Le sigh

I’ve had two YAG laser treatments so far and am paid for two more. I still get those heat attacks, but now it’s more of a pink “blush” than a full-blown, “my head is gonna explode” purple-y flush. I’m able to eat hot foods without any discomfort, and half the time my face doesn’t change color, so that’s definite improvement. A lot of people say that they see best results after their third and fourth treatments, so I’m excited to see how things go!

Unfortunately, I really haven’t seen any results in the tons of bumps on my face, my eye symptoms, or my facial redness. I wouldn’t mind the redness if it was just my cheeks, but when it’s my whole face, it’s kind of embarrassing. Plus my skin will always feel hot and feverish so long as the redness is there. I was looking up different lasers and there’s this one called Vbeam that is supposed to be very effective against permanent redness, and it may even help dry out the “pimple”-like bumps. Usually there’s only one or two weeks of downtime, and the treatments are usually at least four weeks apart. Most people get around four treatments total. For the more persistent cases, doctors will purposely bruise the face, as that generally provides total clearance. However, downtime after bruising can be anywhere for one to two months. I really doubt I’d need to try bruising. I’m going to wait until I’ve had my last two YAG treatments for flushing, then I might look into this Vbeam laser.

The antibiotics clearly haven’t kicked in yet, as my face is still very bumpy and my eyes still sting and blur sometimes. I’m giving them another week or two, then I’ll probably look into other antibiotics. I have a prescription for Minocycline that I never used. All antibiotics are different, and some people don’t react to some but react to others, but switching antibiotics would probably mean another month of waiting for it to kick in. Arg!

I ordered lots of mineral concealer and tinted sunscreen, since my mom wants me and Michael to visit her in Florida the beginning of April. There’s no way I’m leaving the house looking like this, lol, so I’m going to have to cake on the makeup, I guess. The redness in my face would be easily coverable, but there’s really no way to disguise the bumps. I’ll probably just buy a hat and avoid eye contact, haha.

Oh yeah, a quick note — I doubt this is related to anything, but yesterday I started getting some pains in the right side of my chest. About two hours later, the right side of my throat seemed to close up. This didn’t effect my breathing at all, but it hurt and the outside part, under my chin, felt swollen on the right side. Swallowing really hurt. After an hour or so, it was gone, thankfully. Probably from something I ate?
